Several hours after eight were killed at a FedEx facility, families waited at a hotel to hear word if their loved ones were safe, if they were alive.
The ATF and U.S. Attorney’s Office are pursuing federal charges in the case.
Officers responded to reports of several shots fired in the alley on North Tuxedo Street.
A jury found Tighe Bibbs guilty in the murder of Shiloh Britton, who was found shot in the head in 2018.
IMPD detectives arrested a 21-year-old woman in the shooting. The child was taken to Riley Hospital for Children.
The chase results in a crash of a police car just north of downtown Indianapolis. The suspect discarded a rifle from a car during the chase.
The sheriff’s office said Lt. Jason Lee was a reserve deputy of four years.
Indianapolis police say the incidents are related. They took place in the 52nd Street area near Lafayette Road.
Sheriff Duane Burgess said the jail had already planned to start vaccinations on Monday and Tuesday before the facility went in lockdown.
