Munster alleges that the HSD violated the terms of a 1994 contract between the two entities by withholding tax revenue to which the town was legally entitled.
A defense attorney said there are a few “outstanding issues” to work out before an agreement can be reached. The defendants will appear next in court July 1.
The group’s vehicle had been struck several times by gunfire and the back window was shattered, police said.
Led by the special operations unit of the sheriff’s department, the increased police presence targets alleged car thieves, drug traffickers and crime that originates in Illinois and seeps into Indiana, sheriff Oscar Martinez Jr. said.
