Gary Police Chief Confirms Officer Jones Lied & Violated Strauss’ Civil Rights

A copy of the Verified Complaint filed against Officer Nicretia Jones of the Gary Police Department was obtained via a FOIA request and can be downloaded above. The complaint was submitted to the Gary Civil Service Police Commission and accepted at the February 3rd, 2019 meeting. The complaint was submitted by Gary Police Chief Richard Allen.

Many areas of the Standard Operating Procedure and Rules of Conduct are highlighted in the complaint however most notably are the references to the civil rights violations and the false statements given by Officer Jones. These are direct allegations police misconduct brought forth by Chief Allen. The Gary Civil Service Police Commission will now oversee this matter and make a determination as to how they believe she should be punished if at all. A link to the video of the incident is below.
